Write Math is a product of Brilliant Apps ("we", "our"). We provide inline equation editing for Google Workspace. This policy describes what we collect and how we use it.

Google Workspace add-on

When you use Write Math inside Google Docs, Slides, or Sheets, the add-on loads our equation editor in a sidebar iframe hosted at www.brilliantapps.org. The add-on accesses only the current document, spreadsheet, or presentation (via Google's currentonly scopes) to insert equation images and read equation metadata stored in image alt text. We receive your Google account email and user ID to sync Google Workspace Marketplace licenses and enforce plan limits. We do not read unrelated files in your Drive.

Information we collect

• Account data: When you sign in with Google, we store your Google subject ID, email, name, and profile image URL.
• Workspace context: If you use a Google Workspace account, we may store your hosted domain to support organization licensing.
• Equation metadata: Equations you insert are stored as image alt-text in your document (controlled by Google). Optional cloud library features may store LaTeX you choose to save.
• OCR usage: Handwriting recognition sends stroke or image data to our servers, which forward it to Mathpix for conversion. We cache results by content hash to reduce duplicate processing.
• Billing: Paid plans are processed by Stripe; we do not store full card numbers.

How we use information

• Authenticate you and enforce plan limits (including OCR quotas).
• Provide organization seat management and marketplace license sync.
• Improve reliability, security, and support.

Sharing

We use subprocessors including Google (sign-in), Neon (database hosting), Vercel (application hosting), Stripe (payments), and Mathpix (handwriting OCR). We do not sell your personal information.

Retention

We retain account and billing records while your account is active and as required for legal obligations. OCR cache entries may be retained to control API costs.

Your choices

You may request account deletion or data export by contacting support@brilliantapps.org. You can revoke Google OAuth access from your Google Account security settings.
